🎸 December’s Rockin' Roundup 🎄

As the year comes to a close, we’ve wrapped up December with some incredible moments across all our schools and sessions. From festive performances to exciting news for the year ahead, here’s a look at what we’ve been up to this month:

Wythenshawe Forum Creative Space

A message from tutor, Harry: "It has been a pleasure to teach all the students at Wythenshawe Forum. For those who attended the showcase, you saw first-hand the dedication and practice each student put into their performances. To go from learning an instrument to performing on stage after just 10 weeks is an incredible achievement! Each student has shown true passion for music, and I can’t wait to see them all in the new year to continue their musical journey. Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year to all!"

Chris, Co-Founder of Music Evermore, shared:
"It was wonderful to pop down to the end-of-term showcase on the last Tuesday of term. I had the pleasure of meeting the group members, their friends, and families, and I was treated to an absolutely superb performance. It’s hard to believe this is only their first term and that many of the students had never picked up an instrument until just 10 weeks ago. Their progress has been truly inspiring, and I’m so excited to see what they achieve next!"

Saturday Funded Band Sessions – Whalley Range

Our Saturday band is finding its feet, growing into a vibrant group with diverse skill levels and big personalities. While some members are already advanced, others are just starting their musical journey. This dynamic has brought its challenges, but it’s been inspiring to watch the group progress, learn from one another, and grow together. Their enthusiasm and teamwork are what music is all about!

St Mary’s Primary School

We couldn’t be prouder of our students at St Mary’s this term! Both groups capped off the year with a solid performance for their school and families. The after-school club also took to the stage for the first time, delivering a lively rendition of Spooky Scary Skeletons that was packed with energy and character. Their hard work and dedication shone through in every note. We can’t wait to see what 2025 has in store for these rock stars!

Webster Primary School

Webster Primary wrapped up their term in true festive style with a fantastic assembly!

  • The Year 4 cohort (all 70 of them!) wowed the school with a spirited group performance of WHAM’s Last Christmas.

  • Our Year 5 and 6 students kept the rockin’ holiday vibes going with performances of classics like Slade’s Merry Xmas Everybody and Shakin’ Stevens’ Merry Christmas Everyone.

An amazing way to end the term—well done to all the students!

Looking Ahead to 2025

We’re thrilled to announce the addition of Heist or Hit, a local Manchester record label, to the Music Evermore family! Thanks to their support, two new schools—Claremont Primary School in Moss Side and Peel Hall Academy in Wythenshawe—will receive fully funded music tuition in the new year.

We’ve been busy getting these schools equipped with instruments and ready to rock, and we can’t wait to share their progress with you in 2025. Stay tuned for updates!

Thank You!

A huge thank you to Manchester City Council, Rising Tide AI, and our incredible monthly donors for making all of this possible. Your support ensures that we can continue to bring the joy of music to children and young people across Manchester.

Wishing you all a Merry Christmas and a Rockin’ New Year! See you in 2025! 🎸✨
